Kosovo is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe, located in the Western Balkans. It declared independence in 2008 and has since been working to strengthen its democratic institutions, rule of law, and economic development. Kosovo has a young population and a multicultural society, with Albanian and Serbian as official languages. The country is gradually integrating into regional and international structures while addressing social, economic, and public health challenges.
Central and Eastern Europe is a region of Europe characterized by diverse histories, cultures, and economies, and it plays an important role in regional cooperation and Europe’s political and social development.
The Kosovo Green Crescent Society (Shoqëria Hana e Gjelbërt e Kosovës) is a non-governmental organization based in Kosovo, with its headquarters located at Careleva No. 21, 21000 Prizren, Kosovo. A Goodwill Agreement was signed in 2014, and the organization completed its official establishment in 2015. Kosovo Green Crescent has been a member of IFGC since 2017 and was elected as an alternate member of the IFGC Supervisory Board in 2025.The President of the organization is Ergin Kala, who also serves as the primary contact person. The association focuses on prevention, awareness-raising, and community-based activities addressing addiction related to drugs, alcohol, and similar forms of addiction, contributing to public health and social well-being in Kosovo.
