North Macedonia (officially the Republic of North Macedonia) is a landlocked country in Southeast Europe on the Balkan Peninsula. Its capital city is Skopje. The country gained independence in 1991 and is a member of the United Nations. North Macedonia is characterized by its cultural and ethnic diversity and a parliamentary democratic system. Its economy is based on services, industry, and agriculture, and the country actively engages in regional and international cooperation, including alignment with European and global institutions.
Central and Eastern Europe is a region of Europe characterized by diverse histories, cultures, and economies, and it plays an important role in regional cooperation and Europe’s political and social development.
Zdruzenie Jesilaj Na RSM is a civil society organization based in North Macedonia, with its headquarters located at Skopje-Butel, st. Aleksandar Turundzov-69A, North Macedonia. The organization signed its Goodwill Agreement in 2016. Originally established in Tetovo in 2015, North Macedonia Green Crescent underwent a restructuring process after 2018 and was re-organized as a Skopje-based entity, completing its official establishment in 2020. It has been a member of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (IFGC ) since 2021 and was elected to the IFGC Audit Board in 2025.The organization is chaired by Sheval Nureddin, who also serves as the main contact person. In 2020, North Macedonia Green Crescent organized a state-led event at the Commission on Narcotic Drugs (CND). In 2022, the organization submitted its application for consultative status with ECOSOC, focusing its activities on the prevention of drug, alcohol, and other forms of addiction through awareness-raising and advocacy initiatives.
