Senegal is a country located in West Africa, bordered by Mauritania, Mali, Guinea, Guinea-Bissau, and The Gambia, with a coastline along the Atlantic Ocean. Its capital city is Dakar. Senegal gained independence in 1960 and is a member of the United Nations and the African Union. The country is known for its political stability, democratic traditions, and active role in regional and international cooperation. Senegal’s economy is based on agriculture, fisheries, services, and trade, and it engages closely with African and international institutions to promote sustainable development and social cohesion.
West Africa is a region in the western part of the African continent, known for its cultural diversity, growing economies, and active role in regional cooperation and development.
Croissant Vert Sénégal is a civil society organization based in Senegal, with its headquarters located at Golf Sud Villa 089, Guédiawaye, Dakar, Senegal. The organization signed its Goodwill Agreement in 2014 and completed its official establishment in 2016. It has been a member of the Union of NGOs of the Islamic World (IFGC) since 2020.The organization is chaired by Falou Gueye. Representatives of Senegal Green Crescent have been participating in Capacity Development Programs since 2017, including the 5th Capacity Development Program held in 2020. Croissant Vert Sénégal is also a member of the Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC). In 2021, the organization submitted its application to ECOSOC and was among the first applicants, subsequently obtaining ECOSOC Special Consultative Status in the same year.
