Activating society is key to achieving a sustainable and comprehensive impact in addiction prevention. Addictions are deep and complex problems that affect individuals, families and communities. It is also an important social responsibility that goes beyond individual efforts and requires broad community involvement. Activating society, raising awareness and encouraging active participation is critical to achieving effective results in addiction prevention.

One of the first steps to activate society is to increase the level of awareness about addiction. For this purpose, as the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC), we organize trainings, seminars and information events for the Country Green Crescents in order to raise social awareness about the negative effects of addiction and to encourage individuals and families to make informed choices.

Secondly, social support networks should be created to activate society in addiction prevention. As the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC), we aim to strengthen cooperation between Country Green Crescents and local communities, civil society organizations and governmental institutions regarding addiction prevention. To this end, we encourage Country Green Crescents to develop joint projects and organize events with relevant institutions and organizations and support them throughout the process.

Thirdly, recognizing that educating and raising awareness of young generations is critical to create a sustainable impact in addiction prevention, the International Federation of Green Crescent (IFGC) collaborates with Country Green Crescents to raise awareness of young people on addiction risk factors and support them to develop positive life skills. Trainings and workshops organized in schools and youth centers help young people develop a conscious and resilient attitude in addiction prevention. By encouraging young people to make healthy life choices, these activities aim to create a sustainable impact on addiction prevention in the future of society.

The ability to activate society also requires a strategy built on information, communication and collaboration. As IFGC, we provide resources, trainings and guidance to help member Country Green Crescents develop these strategies. In addition, we support the establishment and effective use of communication tools, media platforms and digital channels, enabling Country Green Crescents to deliver their awareness campaigns and messages to a wider audience.

In addition, leadership and setting an example are also important elements of activating society. Each Country Green Crescent representative should not only set an example in preventing addiction through his/her own behavior and lifestyle, but also take an active role to attract and influence the attention of the society and support community leaders, educators and young people.

Another important point is to support policy and legal arrangements that are in line with our goals in addiction prevention. Country Green Crescents should contribute to the formulation and implementation of policies that promote addiction prevention at local and national level. This will help us mobilize large segments of society to promote a healthy lifestyle.

Finally, international cooperation and shared experiences are of great importance. Keeping in touch with both the Federation Management and the Country Green Crescents, sharing best practices, partnering on projects and exchanging information will make our efforts to activate society more effective.

IFGC continues its activities with the awareness of the importance of activating society in order to prevent addiction worldwide and to create a healthy and conscious society, and in line with this goal, it plays an active role at the global level by providing support services to Country Green Crescents.
