Substance Addiction and Recovery Webinar

The first webinar of 2025, "Substance Addiction and Recovery - Practical Approaches from YEDAM," will be held on February 20, 2025, from 12:00 to 13:00 (GMT +3) for Country Green Crescent representatives During this session: o   The psychological and social effects of addiction, risk factors, early intervention methods, and recovery processes will be discussed. o   YEDAM's free counseling services in alcohol, substance, gambling, tobacco, and İnternet addiction will be introduced. o   Comprehensive solutions such as psycho-social support, family therapy, case analysis, and life skills training will be explained in detail. o   Findings from case studies and best practices from the field will be shared. Starting this year, IFGC aim to hold more interactive sessions to increase engagement. Country Green Crescent representatives are welcome to share their thoughts, questions, and best practices before the webinar.

IFGC hosts Country Green Crescents for the 8th International Capacity Building Program in Istanbul

The International Federation of Green Crescent is pleased to announce the 8th International Capacity Building Program, scheduled to take place from April 30 to May 2, 2025, at Sepetçiler Pavilion in Istanbul, Turkey. This annual event aims to enhance the scientific, academic, and advocacy capacities of Country Green Crescents, fostering their national, regional, and international engagement in addiction prevention and public health efforts. This year’s program will bring together representatives from many NGOs in prevention worldwide, providing a platform for knowledge exchange, best practice sharing, and skill development. The program will also include motivational talks, workshops and interactive sessions where Country Green Crescents will present case studies from their respective regions. Since its inception in 2016, the International Capacity Building Program has hosted a total of 1,464 participants from various countries. The initiative has grown steadily, with increasing participation each year, reflecting the commitment of the Green Crescent Movement to global collaboration and capacity building. The 8th International Capacity Building Program is set to be a key milestone in strengthening the global effort to raise awareness for healthier societies.

As the International Federation of Green Crescent, we embrace an important mission in addiction prevention. As IFGC, we provide guidance to our member Country Green Crescents, which carry out a wide range of activities related to addiction, in the areas they need. By providing them with effective and scientific methods in addiction prevention, we support individuals to lead a healthy and addiction free life.

A segmentation survey is conducted every year with the aim of developing a strategy for the needs of IFGC member Country Green Crescents, in line with the results of this segmentation survey; In line with the results of this segmentation survey, IFGC provides training and workshop support on various subjects at both basic and advanced levels with online and face-to-face training options, especially "Establishment and Management Processes, Training Management, Project and Fund Management, International Memberships and Advocacy, Communication and Campaign Management, Volunteer Management, Scientific and Academic Studies" in order to develop the scientific, academic and advocacy fields of the Country Green Crescents, to increase their national, regional and international activities and to improve their vision with the training and implementation support provided by many institutions and organizations, especially international organizations. With these trainings, it is aimed to increase capacity development by bringing together expert trainers and speakers with the Country Green Crescents.

In addition to short-term awareness trainings for Member Country Green Crescents, we also organize comprehensive trainings of trainers so that countries can organize awareness trainings, workshops and sessions in their own countries, especially within the scope of addiction prevention.

As the closing of 2023, a webinar program titled “The Art of Fundraising” was held on 21 December 2023 with the participation of representatives and volunteers from Country Green Crescents within the scope of Project and Fundraising Management. The program was enriched with the participation and presentations of speakers from important international organizations such as the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime (UNODC), Vienna NGO Committee on Drugs (VNGOC), as well as the participation and experience sharing of Country Green Crescents who are experts in the fields of Project and Fundraising.

The International Federation of Green Crescent's website provides a rich platform for anyone who wants to get in-depth information on addiction prevention, easily access resources and contribute to different studies. The articles, reports and informative materials on the website cover various aspects of addiction and provide important information to build an informed society.

In addition, through the website, you can follow the projects, events and campaigns carried out by the Country Green Crescents.
