Faruk Čaklovica is a Bosniak academic and professor of Bromatology who served as Rector of the University of Sarajevo (2006–2012) and has been a board member of the Balkan Universities Network since 2010. A graduate of the University of Sarajevo’s Faculty of Veterinary Medicine, he earned his master’s and doctoral degrees there and completed postdoctoral studies in the United States, Denmark, Malaysia, Egypt, and Germany. Author and co-author of 143 scientific works in applied food microbiology, foodborne bacterial diseases, human nutrition, hygiene, and food technology, he received the April 6th Sarajevo Award in 2020 for his contributions to science and health.
